Products in Focus - Stain Removal Part II
29th April 2023
Earlier this month, I introduced the two main products I use in the laundry for stain removal. They take care of pretty much every stain between them, including blood, grease, and even tar paint!
Both products are super-concentrated and excellent value. They tick all the boxes for earth-, people- and machine-friendly needs.
1. Kin Kin Naturals - Eco Soaker & Stain Remover
I reviewed this product earlier this month. [In my review I mentioned that I use a 30mL scoop from Sonnet (from the Helios order which is currently open)].
2. Sonett - Liquid Gall Soap
This product is liquid gold. It removes grease stains like you wouldn’t believe. I have used it to remove tar paint and major oil stains from a variety of fabrics, including synthetics and natural fibres. I actually used it today to remove a rather unpleasant stain that resulted from a bird doing its business on my T-shirt... while I was in it.
The ingredients of the soap work together to lift grease super effectively - bovine gall, seed oils, olive oil and lye, sugar surfactants from sugar, starch and coconut oil, and citric terpene from orangle peel. All the oils used in its production (sunflower, olive and rapeseed) are from 100% organic cultivation.
Sonett Liquid Gall Soap is available in two sizes - 120mL and 300mL - as well as a solid 100g bar. My personal preference is for the liquid soap. A little bit really does go a long way.
While Sonett products are made in Germany, and we make every effort to reduce our carbon footprint and how far our products travel to get to us, their products are unparalleled. We are yet to find equivalent products that are Australian made, give the same results, and are biodegradable to the same extent.
This little bottle of amazingness has revolutionised my ability to keep my clothing looking clean, despite my tendency to fling ghee about with abandon while cooking!
